The Electrical Heart of Your Replica:
The Trigger Switch (or contact group) is the component responsible for the correct communication between the pressure of your finger on the trigger and the battery of your AEG. When you press the trigger, the internal slider closes the circuit allowing current to instantly reach the motor. SHS, a leading company in the production of high-performance internal parts, has designed this switch to replace old worn contacts, drastically improving the firing responsiveness and overall reliability of your rifle.
Premium Materials (Nylon and Copper):
The voltaic arc that is created every time you press the trigger generates a lot of heat, which over time tends to melt the plastic of cheap or standard trigger switch groups. SHS has solved the problem at the root by constructing the housing in high thermal resistance Nylon (thermostability). The contact blades are instead made of high-quality copper, the best material to ensure optimal and lossless electrical conductivity.
Compatibility and Technical Detail:
This contact group is a perfect drop-in for Version 2 Gearboxes (Ver.2), which is the vast majority of M4, M16, MP5 and G3 platforms. An excellent constructive feature of this model is that its closed circuit does not require the selector plate with the classic external metal plate. This eliminates at the root one of the most common false contact problems in standard replicas.
Pay attention to the welds (For mechanics): When you are going to weld the electrical system cables onto the external copper blades, make sure to use a hot soldering iron and do a quick operation! If you keep the tip of the soldering iron on the copper blade for too many seconds, the heat will transfer to the Nylon base, risking softening or deforming it. Touch, weld and detach!
The advantage of not using the metal plate: In the old M4 Tokyo Marui and clones, the selector plate had a metal plate that acted as an electrical "bridge" outside the trigger switch. That plate always oxidized or got dirty with grease, preventing the rifle from firing. The design of this SHS bypasses that problem: the rifle will always fire reliably without depending on external sliding contacts!
Mosfet yes or Mosfet no? This trigger switch is very robust, but if you use 11.1V LiPo batteries with very high discharge C, the voltaic arc will still form. If you want the copper contacts of this fantastic replacement to last forever and never blacken, consider combining the installation with a simple Mosfet (even non-programmable, only for current deviation): in that way only a very low voltage data signal will pass through the trigger contacts, zeroing wear!
