Active Current Distribution (ACD):
The NEW i2 is not just a charger, but an intelligent hub. Thanks to ACD (Active Current Distribution) technology, the internal microprocessor dynamically distributes power: if you are charging two batteries and one finishes before the other, all the residual energy will be immediately diverted to the still occupied slot to speed up completion. Furthermore, it automatically recognizes the capacity of the inserted battery, deciding on its own whether to push the charge or proceed more gently to preserve the cell.
Immediate Reading and Total Safety:
Forget complicated menus. Each slot is equipped with three bright and intuitive LEDs that show you the charging progress in real time (30%, 80%, 100%). Safety is at the highest levels in the sector: it is built in solid fireproof polycarbonate, automatically blocks charging when the cycle is complete to avoid overloads, prevents short circuits and immediately warns you if you have inserted a battery backwards (reverse polarity protection). It is even able to resurrect excessively discharged IMR batteries!

Pro Maintenance Tips
Want maximum speed? Use only one! The NEW i2 intelligently manages the current. If you are in a hurry and need to charge a large battery (such as an 18650 3000mAh), insert it alone in the charger: the Nitecore will dedicate all available power to it (1000mA). If, on the other hand, you charge two batteries at the same time, the power will be divided in half (500mA per slot), lengthening the times a little.
The LiFePO4 Exception (Manual Selection): The intelligence of the NEW i2 automatically recognizes almost everything: if you put a Ni-MH (the classic rechargeable stylus) or a Li-Ion, it adjusts the voltage by itself. However, it does NOT automatically recognize LiFePO4 batteries! If you use this chemistry, you must press the "C" and "V" keys to select it manually, otherwise the charger will treat them as normal Li-Ions, risking damage.
Perfect for Tactical Flashlights: It is the inseparable companion of those who use rifle torches or night vision devices. Instead of spending capital on primary CR123A batteries (non-rechargeable), we advise you to switch to rechargeable RCR123 (16340) versions and manage them with this charger. The investment will pay for itself in a couple of Sundays of play!
