Robust Materials and Functionality:
The structure relies on a tough Polycotton fabric (60% cotton and 40% polyester) with a weight of 260 g/m2, designed to resist abrasions and tears while maintaining good breathability. The front closure uses buttons covered by a flap, ideal for easy field repair. Ergonomics are guaranteed by a protective raised collar and 4 strategic pockets: two on the chest (angled for easy cross-access) and two on the biceps. The elbows, a high-wear area, are reinforced with a double layer of fabric that also serves as a pocket for inserting protective pads.
The perfect Marine setup: To make the most of this jacket, combine it with its USMC MARPAT trousers and a helmet with a dedicated cover (or the classic Boonie Hat). DIY soft elbow pads: Take advantage of the internal pockets on the elbows! If you don't have the original Helikon pads, you can cut out two ovals from a 5mm neoprene sheet. Insert them into the compartments: you will have your joints protected when you lie on the ground or crawl, without the discomfort of elastics that block the circulation of your arms.
Washing and fabric care: The 260g Polycotton is robust, but washing rules are vital to avoid shrinking the garment or fading the pattern. Wash the jacket inside out in the washing machine with strictly cold water (max 30°C). Absolutely avoid bleach, dry cleaning, ironing, and tumble drying. Let it air dry to keep the colors bright for years.
