The Set of 20 Gear Shims 0.50mm (Diameter 3mm) by NGA (Neo Genesis Airsoft) is the "Maximum" gauge for Gearbox alignment. Made of indestructible hardened stainless steel with Laser CNC, with micrometric tolerances of +/- 0.005mm and a completely burr-free finish. The half-millimeter thickness (0.50mm) is the extreme foundation block, essential for bridging very large manufacturing tolerances or for drastically raising the spur gear, ensuring clean mechanics without unstable accumulations of fine shims.

The "Kingpin" of Wide Tolerances (0.50mm Size):
Some Gearboxes (especially those with very deep 8mm or 9mm bearing seats) have a huge "play" (axial play) between the gears and the shell. Bridging half a millimeter of gap using 0.10 or 0.20 discs means stacking too many layers of metal, creating friction and instability. The 0.50mm NGA shim was created to solve extreme gaps in one fell swoop. It provides a high and rock-solid base on which to rest and rotate your gears in total safety, even under the stress of very hard springs and Brushless motors.
Stainless Precision (+/- 0.005mm):
Building such a massive shim requires exceptional materials. NGA's hardened stainless steel does not deform, does not crush under pressure and never oxidizes. The surgical CNC laser cutting and maniacal deburring guarantee absolute flatness: despite being thick, it will never dig into the aluminum body of the Gearbox and will interface perfectly with the bushing flanges, ensuring free rotations and a final sound (shimming) comparable to a luxury watch.
The Salvation of the Spur Gear: The 0.50mm shim is almost always used under the spur gear. This gear has the widest "belly" of all and very often risks scratching against the Gearbox wall or against the bearings if they protrude. Placing a massive 0.50mm disc at the base guarantees a clean and safe detachment, making it rotate freely and silently!
Be careful not to overdo it: Half a millimeter (0.50mm) is an immense space in the world of Airsoft mechanics! Only use it if the initial axial play is really wide. If you force it onto a shaft that only needed a 0.30 and then tighten the shell screws, the gear shaft will jam, breaking the bushing. Always measure the gaps starting from the thin shims to understand if there is space for this "brick".
