Pro Maintenance Tips for Perfect Use
Don't confuse sizes: I repeat this because it's the most common mistake! If your airsoft pistol or rifle uses standard cartridges, those are 12g. These 8g ones are physically shorter and contain less gas: if you try to fit them into a 12g compartment, they simply won't reach the piercing pin or will vent empty.
The magic drop trick: CO2, when changing from a liquid to a gaseous state, freezes. This extreme cold, in the long run, dries and cracks the rubber O-rings of your replica. Before inserting the cartridge, always put a very small drop of pure silicone oil on the tip (the part that will be pierced). With each shot, the gas will atomize the oil inside the valve, keeping the seals soft and perfect over time.
Empty it before putting it away: Have you finished shooting but the cartridge still has some gas? NEVER leave it screwed inside the replica under pressure for days or weeks. The sealing gasket would flatten irreversibly, causing future leaks. Shoot empty until it runs out, unscrew the cap slowly to vent the residue, and remove the empty cartridge.
