Detailed Description
The Magpul Paraclip⢠is much more than a simple carabiner: it's a tactical connecting link developed to withstand the most extreme operational abuse. Designed to integrate seamlessly with the Magpul ecosystem (such as ASAPĀ®, RSAĀ®, MSAā¢, M-LOKĀ® Paraclip Sling Mount, and SGAĀ® plates), it easily adapts to most sling loops found on assault rifles, provided they have sufficient internal diameter (at least 3/8", but 9/16" recommended for full range of motion).
The structural core of the Paraclip is its hardened steel attachment lever, protected by a special Melonite (QPQ) finish that gives it exceptional resistance against wear, abrasion, and corrosion. The outer shell, on the other hand, is molded from Magpul's legendary reinforced polymer. To prevent any accidental opening when overcoming obstacles or crawling on the ground, the Cross-Bolt Lock Bar has been integrated: a small transversal slider that, once engaged, mechanically locks the lever, making it impossible to open the clip. It is the definitive accessory to complete a dedicated 2-point sling (like the MS1) or to create a convertible 2-to-1-point system using the appropriate adapters.

Pro Tips:
Managing the Cross-Bolt Lock Bar: This small lever is your replica's life insurance. When you're in transit, in a dead zone, or facing a long approach march in the woods, push the slider and "lock" the clip. This way, you'll be 100% sure that no bramble will accidentally open it. When you approach the engagement area and know you might need to quickly drop your weapon to transition to your pistol, "unlock" the slider: retention will still be very firm thanks to the clip's spring, but you'll maintain instant release capability.
Pay attention to the loop thickness: Magpul specifies it, and I reiterate: the Paraclip is massive. If you have a replica with a tiny or very thick sling loop (internal diameter less than 9.5 mm or almost 3/8 of an inch), the Paraclip will struggle to move freely and tend to get stuck. Make sure to attach it to dedicated plates like the ASAP or to classic enlarged loops, so the sling will have all the necessary range of motion to prevent you from feeling "stuck" during shoulder transitions!
