Pure Intelligence and Real-Time LCD Display:
The Nitecore UM2 doesn't just "throw in" energy. It is a smart charger that analyzes the inserted battery, automatically detects its charge level, internal resistance and selects the optimal voltage and charging mode (CC, CV or -dV/dt). The large and bright energy-saving LCD screen provides you with real-time information: you can read the input charging current, voltage, percentage completed and the overall health of the battery inserted in each of the two independent slots.
QC 2.0 Quick Charge and Extreme Safety:
In a hurry? When connected to a Quick Charge (QC 2.0) power supply, the UM2 is capable of pushing up to 1500mA of current into a single slot, drastically reducing the charging times of the capacious 18650s. Safety is guaranteed by Nitecore at 360 degrees: short circuit protection, reverse polarity protection (if you insert the battery backwards, the charger stops and warns you), automatic shutdown at the end of charging and a special program to restore excessively discharged IMR/Li-Ion batteries (0V). All enclosed in a shell made of flame-retardant PC materials with excellent heat dissipation.

Pro Maintenance Tips
Want Fast Charging? Use the right plug! The Nitecore UM2 comes with a USB cable, but does NOT include the wall power supply (the "plug" to be clear). To take advantage of Quick Charge mode (and recharge at 1500mA), do not attach it to the USB port of your computer or an old 1A phone charger. Use a modern smartphone wall power supply that supports the QC 2.0 or higher protocol (9V/2A). The word "Quick Charge" will appear on the screen!
ATTENTION to LiFePO4 (Manual Selection): This charger is a genius: it recognizes by itself if you insert a classic rechargeable battery (Ni-MH) or a flashlight battery (Li-Ion) and sets the correct charge. However, it does NOT automatically recognize LiFePO4 batteries! If you use this particular chemistry, you will have to select it manually by pressing the buttons under the display, otherwise you risk overloading them.
The Best Friend of your Equipment: Did you buy a serious tactical flashlight? Or maybe a night vision device? This charger is the best investment you can make. Instead of throwing away tens of euros in disposable batteries (like the expensive CR123A Lithium batteries), buy 16340 or 18650 rechargeable batteries and recharge them the night before the game with this Nitecore. You will save a lot of money in the long run!
