The Nova 3 Tactical line has been redesigned for operators who spend hours on their feet. The secret to its comfort lies in the lower package: the lightweight EVA foam midsole works in synergy with the Merrell Air Cushion system integrated into the heel, which literally absorbs impact shock and stabilizes the stride. Inside, the removable COMFORTBASE™ contoured footbed cradles the foot, eliminating fatigue even after a 24-hour Mil-Sim or a long patrol shift.

Waterproof Protection and "Rock Plate":
Ready for mud and rain? The water-repellent TPU and mesh upper is internally lined with a special Waterproof (WP) Membrane that seals water out while allowing body moisture to escape. A sturdy gusseted tongue prevents dirt, rocks, and debris from entering the shoe. Furthermore, to safely tackle rocky areas or urban ruins, the sole hides a Rock Plate (protective plate) that defends the sole of the foot from sharp stones and distortions.

VIBRAM® Traction and Eco-Sustainability:
Contact with the ground is entrusted to the Vibram® TC5+ sole, a compound formulated exclusively for Merrell that guarantees exceptional traction on dirt, wet rock, and asphalt. But Nova 3 is also a step towards the future: laces, webbing, breathable mesh lining, and footbed cover are made of 100% recycled materials. Pro Maintenance Tips for a Perfect Setup

The agility of the "MID" cut: Compared to a classic military boot (8 inches high), the "Mid" cut of the Nova 3 stops just above the ankle. This is a huge advantage if you do high-intensity activities or Fast Hiking: the ankle is protected from sprains and brambles, but maintains total flexibility that allows you to run, kneel and sprint with the same agility you would have with a running shoe.

The Rock Plate saves your Sunday: Walking on stones for hours with soft shoes destroys the arch of the foot. The "Rock Plate" inserted by Merrell in the sole serves precisely to disperse the pressure of protruding stones, roots or broken bricks in the Urban/CQB environment. It is an invisible detail but one that drastically changes your day in the field for the better.

Cleaning and Odors: Thanks to the Cleansport NXT™ system, the proliferation of bacteria is kept at bay naturally. In order not to ruin this treatment and the waterproof membrane, never wash Merrell shoes in the washing machine! Only use a soft-bristled brush, lukewarm water and a damp cloth. When you get home, remove the insole and let them air dry, away from direct sunlight or scorching radiators that would melt the glue on the Vibram sole.
