Detailed Description
Originally designed in 2005 as the core of the revolutionary patented SOC-C™ Sling system, the Burnsed Socket™ by Blue Force Gear quickly became an indispensable upgrade for making traditional slings modular. It is an extremely durable "standalone" adapter that you insert by sliding the rear webbing of your sling through it (compatible with classic 1.25 inch webbing, or 3.17 cm).
The upper portion of this accessory integrates a solid socket compatible with QD (Push Button) quick-release buttons or BFG's RED Swivels. This system enables immediate tactical transition: during woodland patrol, you keep the rifle anchored at two points for maximum stability and weight distribution. When the situation demands extreme freedom of movement, such as entering a building or getting into a vehicle, you simply detach the QD swivel from the front of the weapon and engage it into the Burnsed Socket on your chest. In an instant, your sling transforms into a single-point configuration, offering total maneuverability and facilitating shoulder transitions in narrow corridors.

Pro Tips:
The Perfect CQB Setup: To get 100% out of this accessory, you need to position it correctly. Disassemble the rear part of your sling and slide the Burnsed Socket so that, when you wear the rifle in 2-point configuration, the adapter falls approximately at the height of your sternum or near your strong shoulder. This way, when you detach the front of the rifle to switch to single-point, the weapon's weight will fall exactly in the center of your chest, allowing you to slice the pie or perform ambidextrous shoulder transitions without the sling choking you!
Sling Compatibility: Pay attention to a crucial detail before purchasing. The Burnsed Socket is a closed piece; it does not open in half. To mount it, your sling must have at least one end (preferably the rear one) made of smooth, unstitched webbing that can be unthreaded from loops, slipped through the 1.25" slot of this adapter, and then re-secured. If your sling has buckles or snap hooks permanently sewn on both sides, you will not be able to install it!
