Set of three 0.5mm shims from FPS for adjusting the angle of engagement (AOE) between the piston and sector gear. They are placed between the piston head and piston. Increases the reliability of the AEG. Requires modifications to the piston (removal/reduction of teeth). Consulting experienced technicians is recommended. Made in Italy.

This set of three 0.5mm shims from FPS is designed for modifying and adjusting the angle of engagement (AOE - Angle Of Engagement) between the first tooth of the piston and the first tooth of the sector gear in electric airsoft guns (AEGs).
Function:
The shims are placed between the piston head and the piston, slightly moving back the piston inside the gearbox. This decreases the engagement angle between the teeth of the piston and those of the sector gear.
Advantages of AOE Correction:
A correct angle of engagement is fundamental for:
- Increasing the reliability of the AEG.
- Reducing stress on components (piston, sector gear, gearbox).
- Preventing premature breakage, especially in high-speed configurations or with powerful springs.
IMPORTANT:
- Modifying the AOE usually requires the removal of the second tooth of the piston and, in some cases, the reduction of the third tooth.
- If switching from a standard angle of engagement (Marui type) to a non-standard one, it is advisable to make these modifications to the piston.
- If you do not have the necessary skills, it is recommended to consult experienced technicians.
- A normal piston head can withstand a maximum of one shim.
