The BOONIE HAT MOD. 2 by Invader Gear is the technical evolution of the classic military jungle hat. Made of lightweight and ultra-resistant Rip-Stop fabric (135g), this Mod. 2 version optimizes camouflage thanks to the four crossed fabric strips on the dome and the perimeter band for inserting natural vegetation. Equipped with a short, snag-free brim, 4 ventilation holes and adjustable chinstrap, it is ideal for snipers, scouts and outdoor excursions.

Advanced 3D Camouflage (The Cross System):
The real strength that distinguishes the Mod. 2 version is the revolutionary camouflage system on the upper part of the dome. In addition to the classic perimeter band, Invader Gear engineers have sewn four sturdy fabric strips crossed on the top of the hat. This textured textile grid allows you to firmly anchor branches, tall grass, leaves or jute strands not only on the sides, but also on the top of the head. It is the definitive system to radically break the circular silhouette of the human skull, making you invisible from above or when you are lying in a prone position.
Short Anti-Snag Brim and Rip-Stop Fabric:
Built to last in the most hostile biomes, the hat is made of high quality Rip-Stop tear-resistant fabric. The Mod. 2 design features a slightly narrower brim compared to traditional Vietnam boonies. This technical feature maintains eye protection from the sun, but prevents the hat from constantly snagging on brambles, low branches or dense foliage during rapid movements or patrolling phases in the dirt.
Ventilation and Comfort on the Field:
Originally designed for hot and tropical climates, this boonie guarantees excellent air circulation thanks to four side ventilation holes with metal mesh, which promote the dispersion of body heat while keeping insects out. The solid and tested chinstrap is equipped with an adjustable polymer stopper, essential for not losing the headgear during dynamic sprints or in the presence of strong wind.
The cross dome (Sniper's paradise): If you play as a scout or sniper, the upper four-strip grid of this Mod. 2 is a sensational breakthrough compared to versions with Velcro. When you are lying on the ground in concealment, the top of your head is the most exposed to view. Insert blades of grass and local twigs under the crossed straps on the dome: you will break the silhouette surgically and blend completely with the surrounding terrain.
The convenience of the narrow brim on excursions: Many hikers prefer this model because, when you move in narrow mountain paths or in the middle of coppice woods, the wide brim of old military hats tends to hit everywhere and jump off at the first branch. The short brim of Invader Gear perfectly protects the eyes from the sun's reflections but leaves you with a decidedly superior freedom of movement and peripheral visibility.
The trick of the cord behind the nape: If there is no strong wind and you find it annoying or irritating to have the strap passing under your chin or dancing in front of your mouth, do as the professionals do in the field: pass the cord behind the nape of your neck and tighten the polymer stopper against the back of your head. The boonie will remain firmly blocked on the forehead in a very stable way and you will have your face completely free and fresh.
