The ZERO-SHOCK piston from FPS is a high-quality upgrade component, designed and manufactured in Italy (100% Made in Italy) to improve the performance and reliability of airsoft replica gearboxes.
Main Features (common to both variants):
- ZERO-SHOCK System (patented): This damping system reduces the stress that the rack transmits to the piston body, significantly increasing resistance and reliability compared to traditional pistons.
- Carbon fiber reinforced technopolymer body: A special technopolymer, reinforced with carbon fiber and added with a small percentage of elastomer, offers high mechanical performance and a low coefficient of friction.
- MIM steel rack: The rack (the part with the teeth that mesh with the sector gear) is made of steel using MIM (Metal Injection Molding) technology. This production process guarantees dimensional precision and robustness comparable to that of CNC machining from solid.
- 14 teeth: The rack has 14 steel teeth.
- AOE pre-corrected: The second tooth is missing and the third is already lowered by 0.3mm. This configuration prepares the piston for a correct Angle Of Engagement (AOE), making it also suitable for high-speed configurations.
- Rack material: SAE 4650 steel surface treated with HRC38-42° hardening.
- Sliding guides: Designed to minimize friction and retain lubricant for a long time.
- Off-center rack seat: Promotes coupling between the piston teeth and those of the sector gear.
- Longitudinal reinforcements: Increase the robustness of the piston and prevent the rack from contacting the inner wall of the cylinder.
- Internal ribs: Reduce the contact surface between the spring and the piston body, decreasing friction.
