The Gladius Magna series is born with a reinforced mechanism designed for dual power (Gas and CO2). This CO2 magazine is the real ace in the hole for airsoft players who don't want to give up playing in winter. CO2, in fact, does not suffer from the cold (Cooldown) like Green Gas, returning a dry, brutal recoil (Blowback) and a consistently constant BB trajectory, from the first to the last of the 23 available shots.
Use your head, save the mechanics: The Gladius Magna is a real "tank" and its mechanics withstand CO2 very well even in August. BUT... why subject it to unnecessary stress? In summer, CO2 pressures become astronomical and in the long run excessively strain the slide and air nozzle. Our professional advice is to "switch": use Green Gas magazines in spring/summer and mount this powerful CO2 magazine only in autumn/winter. You will have an immortal pistol that always performs at its best in every season!
The 23 BB Rule: Secutor springs are nice and stiff to ensure smooth feeding. Even if it holds 23 rounds, loading 21 or 22 is a great trick to avoid exasperating the upper plastic lips and to insert the magazine smoothly with the slide closed, without having to slap the base.
CO2 Discharge: Vital rule for the life of your seals: at the end of Sunday, NEVER put the pistol or magazine in your backpack with the CO2 cartridge pierced inside. Unscrew the cap, let the residual gas out and remove the capsule. The fixed pressure would destroy the O-ring in no time.
