The BOONIE HAT NIR from Clawgear is a premium tactical headgear, designed to offer maximum functionality and protection. The NYCO fabric (50% Cotton and 50% Polyamide/Nylon) guarantees the extreme mechanical resistance of synthetic fibers combined with the softness and breathability of cotton. The most advanced feature is the NIR (Near Infrared Reflective) treatment: the fabric is designed not to "shine" under infrared illumination, making you invisible to hostile operators equipped with night vision goggles (NVG).

Absolute Adjustment and Tactical Details:
Unlike classic fixed-size jungle hats, this model features a perimeter drawstring that allows you to tighten or loosen the circumference of the dome for a millimeter-perfect fit on your head. The solid chin strap keeps it anchored in case of strong wind or rapid movements. Ventilation is ensured by holes with metal mesh on both sides, which dissipate internal humidity and excess heat.

Modularity and Secret Compartment:
On the outside, we find the classic loop band for inserting local vegetation, flanked by two Velcro panels (top and back) sized perfectly for IFF identification patches or V-LITE® strobe markers. Pro Maintenance Tips for a Perfect Setup

The vital importance of NIR treatment: If you play or operate at night, you know that modern night vision goggles (NVG) are very unforgiving. A normal camouflage hat, if not NIR treated, will light up like a white light bulb under the light of an infrared illuminator, nullifying all your camouflage. With this Clawgear, your head will remain completely opaque and camouflaged even in the darkest darkness and under the lens of enemy viewers!

What is the internal pocket for: How many times have you gone to play and didn't know where to put your ID card, ATM card or club card for fear of losing them in the woods? The inside pocket of this boonie is the definitive solution. The documents remain safe, protected from the sun, pressed against the head (therefore they do not bounce) and totally invisible from the outside.

Washing (Attention to NYCO): The washing specifications are clear to keep the fabric resistant and the NIR treatment intact. Wash it exclusively by hand or in the washing machine at low temperatures (maximum 30°C) with delicate programs. Do not use bleach, do not dry clean it and if you really have to iron it (but it is not necessary!), use the iron at very low temperature (max 110°C). Always air dry it, never in the dryer at high temperatures!
