Pro Maintenance Tips

The tactical advantage of the Butterfly Key: Having the butterfly key supplied literally changes your life in the game. Instead of having to repeatedly rub your thumb on the hard lower wheel (which may be dirty with mud), simply insert the key on the side and give it a couple of quick turns to put the entire spring back in tension in less than 3 seconds. Many operators tie the butterfly key to their tactical gear with a piece of paracord so they never lose it in the woods and always have it at hand.

The Lubrication Rule: To prevent malfunctions, the manufacturer recommends regularly oiling the magazine. Attention from softgunner: spray a very light veil of silicone oil only on the lower mechanism and on the external steel body (to prevent rust). Never flood the internal BB feed channel, otherwise you will grease the hop-up bucking of the rifle, ruining the shooting accuracy!

Modifications for the perfect fit: We have indicated that on brands such as CYMA or D-Boys a "small adjustment" may be necessary. Don't panic: if you notice that the magazine struggles to latch, simply gently pass a metal file on the rear latching tooth of the magazine (filing one millimeter at a time) until you hear the classic "clack" of insertion. It is a very normal procedure in the AK world.
