The BlackFox Bean Gen 2 is not just a knife, it's a functional design accessory created for the needs of the modern man. Born from the pencil of the famous Ukrainian-American designer Serge Panchenko, the Bean was conceived to be the ideal companion in urban environments where a traditional knife might be too aggressive or bulky.
"Urban Friendly" Philosophy
As Panchenko himself states: "The Bean shines where a larger knife would be considered threatening". Thanks to its small size and the Slip-Joint locking system (friction, without a fixed mechanical lock), the Bean is designed to comply with regulations on carrying cutting tools in most European countries, making it "legal friendly".
Materials and Construction
Despite its small size, it is a robust tool. The 440C stainless steel blade ensures excellent oxidation resistance and ease of re-sharpening. With a thickness of 3 mm on such a short blade, the Bean offers surprising solidity. The opening system is smooth and can be done via the oval hole on the blade or the front "flipper".
Style Variations
Each version of the Bean Gen 2 offers a different personality. The G10 version is the only tactical "All Black", while the others play on the elegance of natural or composite materials:
