The SOG Key Knife was created to solve exactly this problem. Having the same size and thickness as a normal house key, it attaches to your keychain, literally disappearing from view. Minimalist but Safe (Back Lock):

Pro Maintenance Tips
PAY ATTENTION TO FLIGHTS (The most common mistake!): Being identical to a normal key, the biggest risk with this knife is not losing it, but forgetting it! Remember to ABSOLUTELY detach it from your keychain before going through security checks at the airport or at the entrance to courts and events. Metal detectors and X-ray scanners will identify it, and security officers will confiscate it without mercy.
Black or Silver? The art of camouflage: If you want maximum "camouflage" in your keychain, we recommend the Silver/Brass version, as the bare metal will blend chromatically 100% with the classic Yale house keys. The Black version is perfect for those looking for a tactical look or want to match it to the car keys, which often have dark plastic shells.
It's a scalpel, not an ax: The thickness of the blade is excellent for its category, but use common sense. It is the perfect tool for unpacking M Tactical packages, cutting electrician's ties, opening letters or cutting a rope. Do not use it to pry open paint cans or to cut wood, otherwise you will compromise the pivot!
