"Hard Box" Design in Rigid Polymer:
If fabric magazines (Nutsack) focus on compactness, this CLASSIC ARMY rigid magazine focuses on autonomy and raw resistance. The protective shell is molded in thick, shockproof gray polymer, which faithfully replicates the iconic 5.56 caliber belt-boxes used by infantry since the 80s/90s. The absence of external fabric makes it very easy to clean from mud and dust at the end of the game, while maintaining an excellent weight of only 460 grams when empty.
Increased Capacity to 2400 Rounds and Electronics:
The great advantage of the rigid shell is the internal space: this BOX stores a whopping 2400 BBs, a good 400 rounds more than the compact variants! Power is managed by Classic Army's proven internal electric mechanism. Just insert a 9V battery (not included) into the appropriate compartment to have a continuous and unstoppable flow of BBs rising through the flexible feed tube, guaranteeing you a prolonged volume of fire to support your team in the most difficult advances.
Handle the tube with care! As with all SAW magazines, the flexible spring tube that carries the BBs into the hop-up chamber is the real "Achilles heel". When mounting the BOX under your M249, first hook the polymer box to the lower slides, and only then gently accompany the upper spout into the rifle's mouth. Never pull the box holding it by the tube!
Matter of Mechanics: Classic Army quality makes itself felt, but the laws of physics apply to all 9V magazines. The internal motor is designed to work perfectly on support replicas with realistic rates of fire (ROF) (15-20 BBs per second). If you have mounted a Dual Sector Gear (DSG) or run the M249 at 35 bb/s, the magazine will not be able to push the BBs fast enough. Machine guns are born to fire prolonged bursts, not blenders for a second!
9V Battery Management: We repeat the dogma of the good gunner: the 9V battery powers the heart of your magazine. Use branded alkaline or good quality rechargeable batteries and, at the end of Sunday, always remove the battery from the compartment! Oxidized contacts due to batteries left inside for months are the main cause of death of these splendid accessories.
