Product Details

The RED™ Swivel (Rapid Emergency Detachment) produced by Blue Force Gear® represents the ultimate evolution of firearm attachment systems. Designed for situations where freeing oneself from the weapon is a matter of life or death (e.g., emergency exit from vehicles, entanglements, or operations in water), this device replaces the traditional push button with an intuitive sphero-conical knob.

Unique Pull-to-Release Operation:
Unlike standard QD rings that require the fine motor skill of pressing a small button (difficult under stress or with gloves), the RED™ Swivel releases with a simple straight pull of the knob. Approximately 7 lbs (3 kg) of force is sufficient to activate the mechanism.

Accidental Release Prevention:
Despite the ease of intentional release, the design is engineered to prevent accidents. An off-axis pull of more than 15 degrees locks the mechanism: this means that if the sling gets caught in vegetation, a door, or equipment, pulling laterally, the ring will NOT open. It only releases when the operator grabs it and pulls decisively.

Usage Specifications:
It installs on any standard push-button QD housing (socket). The 1.00 inch (2.54 cm) version is recommended for use with tactical slings such as the Vickers Sling.
